Access every new story from the magazine and website, along with an expanded archive of magazine issues—dating back to 2004—that can be downloaded in full for offline reading. With easy browsing, The Atlantic app gives you a seamless way to engage with all of our daily reporting and analysis. Note: You’ll need to purchase a subscription to The Atlantic to use the app fully. New users get a two-week free trial through iTunes—or, if you'd like access to special bonuses and the opportunity to receive the print magazine, head to theatlantic.com/subscribe. Monthly iTunes subscriptions are sold for $3.99 and annual subscriptions are sold for $23.99. Payment will be made through the iTunes store to your iTunes account. Subscriptions automatically renew, unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for the renewal 24 hours prior to the start of the following period.     This app is an affront to the top-notch journalism trapped somewhere inside it. I subscribed to the digital edition on my iPad, but get error messages every time I try to activate it on my iPhone. If only the reading experience on my iPad made up for this. You guessed it: It doesn't! It's basically a prettified PDF, whose biggest phobia appears to be multitasking: checking notifications, for instance, catapults you to the top of the article you were reading, sending you on an unwanted excursion to locate the last words. The two stars are for the journalism, which remains some of the best money can buy.

    The description says that subscribers to the print edition can access the magazine articles, yet there is no way to do this. There is no information on the website that describes how to do this either. And the "dancing nonsense" ads make it impossible to read the content. A total waste of time, so unlike the Atlantic.

    As a long-time subscriber to the print edition I was hoping to be able to read The Atlantic on my iPad. I had expected some sort of a subscriber log-in. Nothing, unfortunately. Only a newsstand-like display of editions to purchase. But I don't want to pay again for something I already have a print version of. A little extra for the interactive, digital features - o.k. But not the full price.

    For a non subscriber with an iPad a practical way to purchase an read on the way an issue. At my first try, the program crashed continuously. With assistance of The Atlantic team, the problem was easily solved. Good service!
