Fo Years the app has been buggy. Design changed happen, but the problems remain. I have send feedback several times and especially when you live the audio version you will often struggle with the app e.g Will not download the audio track How on earth can you not fix this? This is been getting worse and worse. I have canceled my subscription and find it shocking that this cannot be fixed. Shame!
  • QA management for new releases is terrible

Overall the app does a decent job - articles are easy to read, audio function works nicely. But it’s at least the 3rd time in the last months that, following an update, audio no longer works in the background. First time this happens, you understand. But when it keeps happening, you start questioning the quality of the development team. How hard can it be to check this functionality before publishing a new version?!

Would be great to read the articles in TelePrompter modus while listening to the audio!

Hi, the playlist for audio does not work properly on iOS (iPhone 6s). Would be great if you could fix that. Thanks!

  • A sad demise

Years ago this app was innovative, now the app is buggy and unstable. Swithing between the Tracklist and the Playlist does often not work on the iPhone X. Sometimes only tracks from the Playlist are played, sometimes everything is played, regardless if it is checked for the playlist or not. The Audio part of the app is still not integrated with the Text part, what a missed opportunity. It would be so nice if the words is being spoken would be highlighted in text - much like in a Karaoke video. This would allow the Economist subscribers to improve their english and see the spelling while listening. The only innovation in the last years has been advertising and sending the users behavioral data back for statistics.
  • My favorite weekly

This authoritative, well-written newspaper is a must-read if you want to keep up with world events on a high intellectual level. Not that I always agree with everything and not that the correspondents change their minds, but I need to read as much as I can every week. „Better than all the rest.“ Deborah L.
  • Good app with nice features, nonetheless room for improvement

I won’t judge on content since the focus here is strictly on the app. App works easily and intuitively, one of the best parts is the audio option which allows you to listen to the articles (a big big plus). The interface in some areas can improve to take advantage of gestures ( e.g to zoom in on tables etc). A feature to export the audio parts you like into your own podcast app would be great for the road. The full page advertisements although not over bearing can be annoying when swiping .
  • Very clear position

The economist is in many ways a great newspaper, however what I enjoy the most about it is the clear position that it takes in the different articles.
  • Audio playlist barely usable lately

For some versions now the playlist is hard to use. If you switch to the playlist the buttons tracklist/playlist disappear and the content of the playlist is overlaying. Switching back to the tracklist is only possible by finding the 1mm of an invisible button.
